Global Head of Country Risk
Cedric Chehab is the Global Head of Country Risk at Fitch Solutions where he helps ensure the coherence of global macro and country risk strategy. Currently based in Singapore, Cedric previously served as Head of Asia Research, where he was responsible for all Asia-based country risk analysis and industry research. Before that he was Head of Americas Research, based in New York. From 2008 to 2010, Cedric worked in London as Head of Commodities Research and Strategy. He has also worked in management consulting at Accenture. Cedric holds an MSc in Economic History from the London School of Economics and a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Essex.
Head of Industry Research
Michelle Karavias is the Deputy Head of Industry Research at Fitch Solutions, a Fitch Group company, with a specialization in energy & infrastructure. Michelle joined the company in 2008 as an Infrastructure Analyst. In 2011 she was transferred to the New York office to establish the Americas research team. Specialising in global infrastructure, Michelle has expertise in electricity generation, public private partnerships, project finance and company analysis. Michelle has been invited to speak at industry and company conferences including the WTC's December 2014 International Design and Engineering Consortium Meeting, Totally Concrete in Johannesburg in May 2015, Fitch Ratings’ Annual Infrastructure Conference in May 2016, and the International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors' Associations annual conference in June 2017. She has also been featured in various industry and news publications, such as the Financial Times, Dow Jones, Knowledge@Wharton, China Daily and Infrastructure Investor and has made contributions to radio and television programs, including CNBC Africa. She holds a Bachelor's 1st Class Honours degree from the University of Nottingham in American Studies with International Study at the University of Toronto in Canada.
Head of Fitch Solutions Advisory
Nick Jotischky heads up the Fitch Solutions Advisory Practice. Working closely with sales and analyst teams, Nick helps customers as they assess new market opportunities, plan for strategic growth, articulate their expertise in a market through thought leadership programs, and evaluate their competitors and future customers. Nick worked at Fitch Solutions between 2000 and 2007, managing the Industry portfolio. He left in 2007 to join Informa Telecoms & Media (now Ovum), where he initially headed up the emerging markets telecoms practice, and later directed the consulting practice until 2016, when he headed up a £5mn business line. Nick re-joined in 2016 and now heads up Fitch Solutions Advisory business. Nick has worked with a variety of clients from across geographies and sectors, among them a trade association in North America, a development bank in Africa, a professional services company in Asia, a consumer brand in Europe and an oil & gas company in Middle East.
Head of Operational Risk & South Africa Research
Chiedza Madzima is the Global Head of Operational Risk Research and leads the South Africa Research team at Fitch Solutions. Her areas of specialisation are in business environment risk analysis, policy risk and macro data analysis focussing on Emerging Markets. Chiedza joined the Fitch Solutions team in 2015, having previously attained experience in risk and supply chain management in the Southern Africa region. Chiedza holds two degrees: BSc degree with a double major in Actuarial Mathematics and Financial Engineering as well as BCom degree with a double major in Business Management and Statistics; both from the University of Pretoria in South Africa. She has featured in various regional and global news publications, including Bloomberg, Quartz Africa and Africa Business Magazine.
